Overview

Release 50 is a major milestone for international teams: virtually every module in the DPMS — ROPA, DPIA, Vendors, TOMs, Assets, Tasks, Assessments, Policies & Documents, and more — now stores and displays names and key fields in multiple languages simultaneously. Japanese has been added as a fully supported interface language. Alongside the multi-language work, several usability improvements and bug fixes have been delivered.

What's new

Multi-language field support across all modules [NG-3372 / NG-3492 / NG-3851]

Record names and other key fields throughout the platform can now be maintained in multiple languages at the same time. When a user switches the interface language, names and labels for records in ROPA, DPIA, Vendors, TOMs, Assets, Tasks, Assessments, Legitimate Interest, Meetings & Activities, Data Collection Points, Retentions & Deletions, Policies & Documents, Risk Scenarios, Organisational Units, Audiences, and more will display in the selected language where a translation has been provided.

Japanese language support [NG-3857]

Japanese (日本語) is now available as a fully translated interface language. Users can select Japanese in the language settings and navigate the entire platform in Japanese.

Search improvements for multi-language content [NG-3850 / NG-3818]

The search bar across modules now correctly searches across all stored language variants of a record name, so records are found regardless of which language was used when creating them.

Improvements

  • Main menu on small screens — The main navigation menu has been reworked to behave better on small and narrow screens, improving accessibility on laptops and tablets. [NG-3861]
  • Save button — The save button now shows an animation when a record is being saved, giving clearer visual feedback that the action is in progress.
  • Maturity model cards — The maturity model cards have been made responsive and now display correctly at different screen widths. [NG-3879]
  • Assessment questionnaire tags — Tag handling in assessment questionnaires has been improved, including correct search behaviour within tag selectors. [NG-3846]
  • Organisational unit selects — Organisational unit drop-down fields throughout the platform now correctly display translated names when a non-default language is active.
  • Status labels — Status indicators now consistently show "Activated" or "Deactivated" rather than raw internal values. [NG-3882]
  • Reports — The selected interface language is now respected when generating reports, so report output reflects the user's current language setting. [NG-3821]
  • Assessments general screen — Unnecessary switches have been removed from the Assessments general screen for a cleaner layout. [NG-3889]
  • Vendor documents & policies — An unused label has been removed from the Vendor documents and policies section. [NG-3897]

Fixes

  • Policies & Documents — Fixed an issue where document and policy records were not displaying or saving correctly in certain scenarios. [NG-3881]
  • Notes — verify button — Fixed the behaviour of the verify/confirm button in the Notes area. [NG-3873]
  • DPIA — Fixed several bugs affecting the DPIA creation and detail screens when multi-language mode is active.
  • ROPA risk / Vendor risk — Fixed display issues on the ROPA risk and Vendor IT risk screens.
  • Asset TOMs — Fixed an issue where TOMs linked to an asset were not displaying correctly.
  • Assessment responses — Fixed an error that occurred when reviewing assessment responses.
  • Tag selector — Fixed a bug where searching within tag selectors did not return results correctly.
  • Timezone translation — Fixed an issue where timezone labels were not being translated.
  • Dashboard — Fixed a display problem on the main dashboard.
  • Migration records names — Fixed an issue with record names during the data migration for multi-language support.
