Time Machine

Introduction

The Time Machine allows you to view the state of a specific element at a particular point in the past, starting from the activation date of the feature. Currently, this tool is only available for the Register of Processing Activities (ROPA). The Time Machine gives organizations transparency and control over changes over time by making historical data states accessible.

A Super Admin must activate the Time Machine.

How to Use the Time Machine

  • Open the Time Machine: Go to the Record of Processing Activities, click on the gear icon in the top-right corner, and select the Time Machine option to open the feature. The Time Machine will appear at the top of the screen.
  • Select a Date: Click on the calendar to choose a specific date and view the ROPA data as it existed on that day.
  • Analyze Changes: Select a processing activity to review changes and adjustments over time. This feature is particularly useful for audits, compliance reviews, and tracking adaptations to regulatory requirements.
  • Editing Restrictions: Note that editing is not possible in this view.
  • Return to the Current State: Close the Time Machine in the top-right corner to view and edit processing activities in their current state.
