Version: 209
Release Date: 14.11.2024 19:00 CET
Overview
Release 209 is one of the largest updates to date, delivering a new interactive Data Flow visualisation, classification tags for DPIAs, a Time Machine feature for tracking compliance setting changes over time, and a configurable company widget. Assessments have been significantly extended with risk model question types, intermediary results, an end-results screen, and a redesigned recipients/notifications table. What's new
Data Flow map
A dedicated Data Flow page is now available, presenting a visual, interactive map of how personal data flows between elements such as ROPAs, assets, data collection points, vendors, and affected persons. Key capabilities include:
- Drag-and-drop positioning of nodes on the canvas
- Zoom in/out controls and a re-centre button
- A "wiggle" animation to highlight recently changed nodes
- A delete button (×) displayed directly on connection lines for quick removal
- An overview panel showing element-type counts
- Automatic connection of the nearest handle when drawing a new edge
- Straight-edge rendering with corrected start/end positions
DPIA classifications
A new DPIA Classifications tag type has been added under Compliance Settings → Tags. Classifications can be assigned to a DPIA during creation and editing, making it easier to categorise and filter DPIAs across the platform.
Time Machine (Compliance Settings)
A new Time Machine section under Compliance Settings allows administrators to browse how key compliance data looked at any point in the past. A header banner is displayed when viewing historical data so it is always clear that you are in read-only, historical mode.
Company widget
A configurable widget can now be embedded into external pages (e.g. an intranet or company portal) to display compliance information. The widget is set up under Compliance Settings → Widget.
Assessment builder – risk model questions and results
The assessment builder has been substantially extended:
- Risk model question type – a dedicated question element for linking directly to a risk model (likelihood, damage, matrix view).
- Risk model calculation element – an element that aggregates selected risk-model questions into a calculated score.
- End-results screen – a new screen in the template builder to define how assessment results are presented, supporting text output, table, and variable-display elements.
- Intermediary results – results can now be shown at intermediate points in a questionnaire, not only at the end.
- Standard model selector – assessors can now select the applicable standard/model directly within an assessment template.
- Variable display dropdown – allows result variables to be rendered inline within question text.
Assessment responses – end results for respondents
Respondents completing an assessment via the frontend (permalink) now see a dedicated end-results screen after submission, including risk matrices, text output, and table results where configured.
Meetings & Activities – type tag
A new tag type for Meetings & Activities has been introduced, allowing meeting entries to be categorised by activity type.
TOMs – DPIA tab
A new DPIA tab has been added to the TOM detail view, showing which DPIAs are linked to each technical/organisational measure.
Workflow enhancements
- Workflows can now be triggered when an assessment is approved, when sensitive data is added to a ROPA, or when a ROPA risk level changes.
- Workflow email templates now support multiple languages, sending notifications in the recipient's preferred language.
- A weekly recurrence option has been added for workflow triggers.
- A new base workflow library is available for companies, providing pre-built workflow templates to start from.
- Workflow cards now display their trigger type.
Task creation from TOMs
Tasks can now be created directly from within a TOM record, in addition to the existing entry points in assets and ROPAs.
Assessment permalink – notifications redesign
The recipients/notifications table in assessment permalinks has been completely redesigned with quick multi-action buttons (approve/decline all, send to selected), improved email validation, and a clearer sending-status view.
ROPA – data transfer filter
A new filter on the ROPA index page allows filtering by data transfers to vendors located in a country different from the company's own country.
Reports – filter by creation date and task status
The individual report configuration now supports filtering by creation date range and by linked task status.
Password policy update
The password policy has been updated to allow a broader set of special characters, and the minimum-complexity requirements have been refined.
Improvements
- Data Flow – The "zoom in/zoom out" button order has been swapped to match standard conventions; the zoom level defaults to 0.9 on opening a map and fits all nodes into view automatically.
- Assessments – Mandatory fields now display inline validation errors when left empty; optional questions are automatically approved upon assessment completion.
- Assessments – approve/decline – All questions in an assessment can now be approved or declined in a single action.
- Assessment template – Question indexes are correctly recalculated after drag-and-drop reordering; risk model calculation questions are excluded from the question count and from progress bars.
- ROPA – General tab – The "Need to Process" toggle has been moved to the General tab for quicker access.
- ROPA – TOMs tab – The TOMs tab now refreshes automatically after a linked risk scenario is deleted, without requiring a manual page reload.
- TOMs – General – Placeholder text in the general form now mirrors the field label for clarity; the Assets/ROPA translation for TOMs has been corrected.
- ROPA – Risk Scenarios – Deleting risk scenarios from the Risk Scenarios tab now also removes the corresponding entries in the linked DPIAs automatically.
- Filters – Empty filter inputs are now silently ignored rather than triggering a search with no criteria; date-range filters have been corrected to avoid NaN values.
- Date format – Date display has been standardised to the
DD.MM.YYYYformat across the platform.
- Calendar widget – Calendar styles have been unified across the filter sidebar, tag list, and other screens; months are now spaced correctly and days from adjacent months are selectable.
- Reporting – status column – The status cell in the individual report table now renders with colour-coded styling matching the rest of the platform.
- Reporting – "Updated at" column – An "Updated at" column has been added to the assessment overview screen.
- Task responsible person – Tasks automatically created from an asset or ROPA now inherit the responsible person defined on the source record.
- Assessment numeration – The numbering of action-report items starting from zero has been corrected.
- Domain column – Text overflow in the domain column of list views has been fixed.
- Workflow queue – German translations for workflow queue statuses have been added.
- Breadcrumbs – The back-link in breadcrumbs now redirects to the correct previous screen.
- DPIA / ROPA redirections – Navigation links between DPIA and ROPA detail views have been corrected.
- Treatment status redirect – Clicking the treatment status in an asset now redirects to the TOMs → Assets tab as expected.
- Audience permissions – Multiple permission checkboxes (read/write) can now be selected simultaneously in the Audience permissions screen; checkboxes are correctly initialised to
falserather than undefined.
- Workflow email formatting – Unnecessary punctuation has been removed from the body of workflow email messages.
- Answer evaluation colour – The colour used to highlight a declined answer has been adjusted for better visibility.
- Login error display – An uninformative login error that previously appeared under certain conditions has been suppressed.
- Product Fruits icon – The z-index of the application menu has been raised to prevent it from being obscured by the Product Fruits help widget.
- Dropdown menus – Several dropdown fields across the platform no longer overlap with other UI elements.
- German terminology – "Audiences" is now rendered as "Gruppen" and "DPIA" as "DSFA" throughout the German interface.
