Release 167 (17.07.2024)
Version: 167
Release Date: 17.07.2024 19:00 CET
Overview
Release 167 introduces the Data Subject Requests (DSAR) module, allowing organisations to manage, track, and log requests from individuals exercising their data-subject rights. Alongside this, the Workflow feature has been extended to cover all major record types — including ROPA, DPIA, Assets, Vendors, Documents & Policies, Data Collection Points, Meetings & Activities, and Retentions & Deletions. The Assessment module has also received a broad set of improvements around result conditions, question navigation, and data mapping.

What's new
Data Subject Requests (DSAR)
A brand-new Data Subject Requests section is now available. You can create, edit, and view requests submitted by individuals (e.g. access, erasure, or portability requests). Each request has:
- A dedicated detail page with general information, linked tasks, linked documents, and a log.
- A creation and editing form.
- Default status tags automatically assigned to new companies, so common DSAR statuses are available out of the box.
- An activity log that records all relevant changes to a request.
- Permission-controlled access, including a dedicated "Manage Access" option.
Workflow — extended to all major record types [FE-216, FE-213, FE-214, FE-215, FE-208, FE-221]
The Workflow engine is now embedded in every major module. For each of the following record types you can now trigger a workflow, view the workflow overview, and handle required actions (notifications and approvals) directly from the record's detail or creation page:
- ROPA records
- DPIA records
- Assets
- Vendors
- Documents & Policies
- Data Collection Points
- Meetings & Activities
- Retentions & Deletions
Required actions now show who is responsible, what answer was given, and when — and allow you to skip, delete, or reassign an action from within the record.
Assessment — Result Conditions [NG-1245]
Assessment templates now support result conditions: you can define conditions that determine which result screen is shown to a respondent based on their answers. Duplicate conditions are validated and flagged before saving.
Assessment — Custom Result Screen [NG-1747]
Template builders can now configure a custom result to be displayed when no standard condition is met, giving respondents a meaningful conclusion in all scenarios.
Assessment — Data Mapping integration [NG-1624, NG-1625, NG-1626]
Assessments can now be linked to data mapping fields. When reviewing a response, evaluators can map an answer directly to a field in an existing record (e.g. ROPA, Asset, Vendor), updating it without leaving the assessment response screen.
Assessment — Tags selection in responses [NG-1760]
Respondents and evaluators can now select and manage tags directly within an assessment response.
Assessment — Asset mapping in responses [NG-1763]
Assets can now be mapped and associated from within an assessment response.
Scroll-to-top button in Assessment templates
A scroll-to-top button has been added in the assessment template editor, making it easier to navigate long templates.
Assessment — "Next" button between questions [NG-1794]
A Next button now appears between questions during an assessment, allowing respondents to advance step by step without scrolling.
Improvements
- Assessment template editor — sticky section header: The section panel in the template editor now stays visible while scrolling, keeping context clear.
- Assessment template — links in question descriptions [NG-1670]: URLs written in a question description are now rendered as clickable links for respondents.
- Assessment template — name validation [NG-1671]: Duplicate or invalid template names are now caught and flagged before saving.
- Assessment template — mandatory field message [NG-1766]: The message shown when a mandatory question is left unanswered has been refined.
- Assessment results — question numbering [NG-1770]: Questions shown in the left-hand menu and on result screens are now numbered correctly and result-type questions are excluded from the numbered list.
- Assessment results — multiplicative score [NG-1771]: The score no longer displays "1" when no options are selected in a multiplicative calculation.
- Assessment response — remove Continue button on last question [NG-1767]: The "Continue" button is no longer shown on the final question of an assessment.
- Assessment response — answer state preserved between questions [NG-1772]: Previously selected answers are correctly retained when navigating between questions, including the "Keep" option in maturity-level dropdowns.
- Assessment response — resubmit corrected [NG-1795]: Re-submitting an assessment now correctly updates the closed/open state of the response.
- Assessment — template import: display errors [NG-1785]: Result screens imported from templates now display correctly without errors.
- Assessment — translation/language errors [NG-1768]: Questions and options with missing translations for the current language now fall back gracefully instead of throwing an error.
- ROPA detail page — Workflow Required Action: The required-action panel in ROPA detail now reflects live workflow state.
- Documents & Policies — Workflow integration: The document approval question ("Is the current version approved?") is now part of the workflow step for Documents & Policies.
- Vendors — risk model simplified: The vendor risk-coefficient and risk-domain configuration screens have been streamlined; internal risk calculations are now handled automatically.
- Audience Management — Manage Access: The Manage Access option now correctly saves audience and user assignments and reflects them in the Data Subject Requests module.
- Notifications — roles-based delivery [NG-1540]: Notification delivery by role has been corrected so the right recipients receive alerts.
- ROPA — Overview form: A new overview form component is available on ROPA creation and detail pages for a cleaner summary view.
- International Standards — alignment [NG-1645]: Minor misalignments in the International Standards section have been corrected.
- Asset — TOM display [NG-1785]: Technical and organisational measures (TOMs) linked to assets via suggestions or implementations now display the correct name from the available translations.
